Class 2 Levers

There are three types of levers. The lever that you will learn about is the class 2 lever. the class 2 lever is a lever with the load in the middle and the fulcrum (pivot point) on one edge and the effort on the other. The lever is used to give humans a mechanical advantage by placing the load closer to the fulcrum than the effort.

Class 2 levers give a mechanical advantage. They give a mechanical advantage because when you use the effort it reduces the weight of the load. For example, if you have a class 2 lever and you want to lift 50 pounds, which is the load, it would provide a mechanical advantage because when you pull it, it reduces the load. Class 2 levers are helpful in our daily lives.
